My practice is rooted in my understanding that true health and healing requires a holistic approach, attending to body, mind, spirit, and emotions together. My work is to inspire people to take a deeper look at all parts of their health: to pay attention, to attend to their needs, and nourish themselves. It's a straightforward task, but it's not easy. It takes knowing where to start and being inspired, encouraged, supported, and taught new experiences to really make the changes.
I have been in the practice of health and wellness since 1990 when I graduated from Dr. Scherer's Academy of Natural Healing, as a licensed massage therapist. I went on to study the Hakomi method of body-centered psychotherapy, as well as Sheng Zhen Qigong. In 2009 I became a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the Association of Natural Health and a Certified Computerized Electro-Dermal Stress Analysis technician. All of these mind/body healing modalities culminate in the Functional Medical model of achieving whole health through deeply listening to each individual, integrating body, mind, spirit and emotions, and removing the root causes of stress.
I started Thrive because this is what I want in my own life. Health and longevity require excellent nutrition, exercise, fresh air, friends, community, a sense of spirit, and happiness. The better we feel, the better we want to feel, and the more energy we have to live full, happy lives.
